a) Yesterday we went to visit a friend in Eugene and ended up playing with her LARP group.
For four hours.
We went on a Quest.
I killed a goblin.
I... I think I'm hooked. God help me.

b) I would like someone to call up my subconscious and ask it where this came from: I had a dream last night that I was the guardian spirit of a Mayan child and was watching over him as he and his best friend played in a cenote. He left for a few minutes in search of a pretty rock to give her, and while he was gone she fell in the water and drown. I knew it was going to happen, but could do nothing but watch.

Last night I had a dream I was running around the numerous secret passages of a large hotel/office building, evading the Bad Guys while trying to foil their Plans.

I guess it's what I get for watching that special about Portland's underground right before bed.

Last Night I Dreamt... Aug. 29th, 2007 @ 10:13 am
...that I worked in an office building that was somehow also an old Victorian mansion. I was in the greenhouse on the roof of this multi-story building, playing dominoes with Caitlin and Tom (like ya do), when the dots on the dominoes started disappearing. Soon we were playing mostly with blank tiles.

"My God!" I said to my companions, "there must be an evil spirit here, making our dots disappear!"

"You're right," they said and we proceeded to organize a seance/exorcism.

This involved a large audience sitting on the roof in folding chairs at sunset and watching while a catholic priest prepared to slice in half a turquoise-colored rose with a katana. He was poised over the rose, katana held over his head, muttering scripture, when my alarm went off.

I don't know where this stuff comes from.

I had my second wedding disaster dream last night. Neither one have overly stressful, just exasperating in an "shouldn't we have done this two months ago?" kind of way. I spend most of the time stopping the ceremony so I can go straighten chairs or something.
